Welcome to my little slice on the web. I am a software engineer living in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. This website is in place to allow me to provide some information about myself to those who might be interested. It also serves as a place on the web for me to play around with different technologies and tools.
For instance, this website was originally just static HTML, then PHP, and now python on top of cherrypy using the Genshi templating engine. The cherrypy server is running behind an nginx HTTP server which serves up static content and acts as a load balancer.
What I Do
By trade I am a software engineer working in the embedded software community, for Spectrum DSI, a subsidiary of Digi International. I work on a variety of interesting projects, specializing in embedded python development on top of Digi's connectport gateway series of devices. I also do server, desktop, and embedded work that is closer to the metal than python.
In some of my spare time, I am also involved in the open source community on a number of smaller projects. Most of my open source projects are now hosted at my page on github. For a brief rundown of what open source (and closed source) projects I have worked on in my free time, check out the project page on this site.
